Seeing as it was the Easter break, Billy, Debbie and myself took off for Frank in Alberta and as it was a magnificent day it was a great chance to take more photographs. I decided to take this set of photos at 1600 width to try and make the most of the scenery...

Interesting wee tunnel they had here

And this is us in Fernie

And we're now in the town (Spawood) where they have the biggest truck in the world :-)

That's me standing beside the tyre and Billy & Deb in the other picture

Back on our way to Frank

We're now in Alberta

And this was at the infamous "The Frank Slide" where the mountain fell down on the Frank township and killed over 100 people

You can see the size of some of these rocks, just about the size of a house. It apparently flowed like a river right over the town and up the other side

We were now heading back the way but would pull off to see the exhibition which is a tribute to the people who died in the town

There is actually a very good interactive display and we watched a 45 minute film of the event. Also interesting to note that the receptionist and guide both were of Scots descent :-)

Some excellent views from the event site

We were now heading back to BC

And this was us and the BC border

We took a wee detour to the Wilderness Capital of British Columbia and while it looked quite wild there wasn't much to see in the Capital but outside there were some big mining operations in evidence such as the one on the right

Diversion over we were now on our way back to Cranbrook and Kimberley

The picture on the left is small graveyard for the people that have died at this part of the road

And as this was us nearing Cranbrook I figured you'd already seen the rest of the scenery so this completes this wee day out to Alberta
