Made a new friend today :-)

As I was taking a picture of the front of Nola's house I heard a meow and there was this friendly cat who followed me around for a wee while :-)

Home featured in Family Classified in 1981

So will my new assistant in town here are some pictures of the front view of Nola's home and their old barn at the back of the property

And the back porch is a great place to read the paper

And a great place to get a sun tan

And the above four pictures are of the home of just one of the family

And Nola with some of the Scottish Studies Foundation Board

And on the way out for a night out we got a picture of another family members home and then we met our friends for a night of excellent conversation :-)

In actual fact we did have a grand chat and I learned all kinds of things about Canada.  For example, Canada exports more goods to the USA than any other country.  It designed the guidance system for the cruise missiles. Dodge, the all American car, was actually manufactured in Canada.  Canada has a very tolerant population and has a high number of ethnic groups.  It has more oil in its tar sands that Saudi Arabia has oil. Canada is a major producer of gold and diamonds. Toronto is expected to grow by 2 million in the next few years.  Most of Canada's exporting manufacturers live near the border with the USA. It's also interesting to learn that more of the USA's population is now moving to the south of the country.  Loads of other wee snippets were learnt but that will do for now... and all this is due to Harolds's fantastic memory for facts!
