Had a interesting visit
with 90 year old Willie Fraser who is an expert step dancer and gaelic
singer. Willie told me that when he was around 6 years of age he dreamt
that a person visited him and said he was to become a dancer and taught
him 5 steps. In the morning he told his father who then got out his fiddle
so that Willie could show him the steps. Over a period he dreamt a
few more times that this person had visited him and in total got some 25
new steps.
A long time later he was
visiting in Uist in Scotland and while doing the step dancing he noticed
an old woman crying in the audience. After he compled his dancing he went
up to see if she was ok and she told him that she hadn't seen such steps
since her father had passed away some 70 years ago. Willie thus wondered
if it was that person that had come to him in his dreams.
