This is where I arrived and
got to Elliot Lake and was taken out on my first tour of the area by James
and Joyce Mackenzie.
I actually arrived at 11:55pm so this is where
I am staying for the first few days
And this is the sign that welcomes you to the
city
And here is James and Joyce who are taking me
into the Welcome Centre to collect my welcome pack of brochures
And friendly staff were waiting to greet us -

There is a museum but we figured we'd wait for
a rainy day to visit it
And so after a quick visit to the City
Chambers to fix up my Internet connection it was off on a wee tour of the
area. I did notice the Clan Mackenzie number plate on James' car and
the interesting signpost on their driveway :-)
And this is Horne Lake just beside the town
This is a great trail in the winter and am
told their are some 400km of trails to drive on for snowmobiles
Folk are employed to clean the sides of the
roads around the area. |
