Hunter Lands
Journey from Elliot Lake to the Hunter Lands

We went down on the last Friday of July and here is the trip...

and the friendly native Indian traders :-)

And of course Chief McIntyre had to get his picture taken :-)

And we arrive at Sudbury where John is to pick up some parts for the Argo engine

And this is what an Argo looks like and John hopes to get the one at the camp working over the coming week

And John just had to visit the shop with all the bikes!

And lo and behold there was a wee museum with all the old snow mobiles in it

And then it was back on the road heading for the next stop to buy food and beer!

I might add the Sudbury due to mining killed off most trees in the area to such an extent that this area was used to practice the lunar landing. Since then hundreds of thousands of trees have been planted to bring the area back to what it was

Linda heads for the food store and John heads for the beer! :-)

We're now heading for the camp

And we're now at the Markstay turn off so we're nearly there

And now we're onto the side roads

And we're here... Hunter Road!

We've arrived!

Linda heads in to open the house and turn on the power and water

Linda's Dad built this house himself

Rocks and Trees

Linda's Mum and Dad and the old wood stove

The Argo engine

Red Current bush which I was to have an extensive knowledge of the next day :-)

The wood hut

And down the path you come to the 10 x 10

And so we had arrived. It was to be hotdogs and beer for dinner and then to bed
