Correspondance of an Emigrant
Letter, May 11th 1873

Dear Uncle,
As our minister, the Revd. Robert Hamilton is going on a tour through Scotland for his health he thinks he may have time to call upon you and deliver this letter to inform you how we are getting on. We are all enjoying good health, hoping this will find you all enjoying the same. Last winter has been a very hard cold winter. This is a very late spring. We have not finished seeding yet as we have had a good deal of wet weather. My cousin, James Brown, is no better and is likely never will. His wife and two children are all well. I have saw Mr and Mrs Maitland and young Annie. They are all well. Our names and ages are respectively James Good ages 16 years, William Taylor Good ages 14, John Good ages 12, Petr Good ages 10, Elizabeth Good ages 7 years, Robert Colin Good ages 5 years, Alexander Good ages 3 months. We are all going to school except James, Robert and Alexander. Robert Hamilton can tell you anything else you wish to know about us. It is about 32 years since father andf you have met and he has never received a letter from you. Write soon and let us know how Elizabeth and Agnes and her family and yourself are getting on. Father, mother and us all send our love to you and the rest. No more at present but I remain
Your affectionate nephew
William T. Good, second son of John Good
